Genuine emerald (approx. C-grade rough) beads are most likely dyed to permanently enhance their color. These emeralds show brilliant green tones swirled with white, with occasional clear spots and dark inclusions. 

Low-grade but genuine emeralds make for lovely gemstone beads! They are faceted for extra shine.
