We have seen this gorgeous green-brown swirled material called by many trade names: green canyon jasper, variscite in jasper, and verdite serpentine. I recently read an article saying verdite and serpentine may be the best identification, but variscite in jasper seems likely too, as the brown material definitely looks like a jasper. 

I wish I had a more exact definition to give you. For the meantime, I have stuck with the most common trade name of green canyon jasper, and I will update this listing as I continue to research the stone. Its green and brown swirls are absolutely lovely!
