Sparkling blue goldstone is a man-made synthetic gemstone dating back at least to 16^th century Italy, created with a careful balance of glass and metal oxides heated at low oxygen levels until precise temperatures are reached. The addition of cobalt creates the deep midnight-blue hue.

Exact color, pattern, and size may vary slightly due to the lapidary process. Featured in the January 2024 Bargain Bead Box to represent the twinkling void of outer space.
